Warm & Cozy Watercoloring - Bold Ember Palette | Video Tutorial

Hello my sweet friends,

I am so excited to be part of the Altenew October Release Video Hop and sharing my take on the beautiful new products with you.

For my card,  I used BAG - Joy in Bloom Stamp set and the star of the show is the Bold Ember Watercolor Compact. If you have been following my watercolor journey, you’ll know that these little watercolor palettes are also at the heart of my Watercolor Wonders class at Altenew Academy.

But for this video tutorial, I decided to change things up a little!

Instead of using the colors exactly as they come, I’m combining them in a different way to create a beautiful collection of warm, cozy, autumnal tones for coloring these gorgeous florals. And the best part? I like to call this technique “lazy watercoloring.” 😄There is no pressure to make everything perfect, and there really is no “right” way to do it.

And if you’re a beginner, I think you’re going to love this technique even more.

Want to Learn More About Watercolor?

If this card has made you curious about watercoloring and you’d like to learn some of the basic watercolor techniques that can be especially useful for cardmakers, I’d love for you to check out my Watercolor Wonders class at Altenew Academy. (HERE)

The class is designed to help you explore watercolor specifically through a cardmaking lens, so you can learn techniques that you can actually use with the stamps, dies, and supplies already sitting in your craft room.

And yes, the Bold Ember Watercolor Compact makes quite a few appearances! 😉

I hope you’ll give this relaxed, no-pressure approach to watercoloring a try. Sometimes the best results happen when we stop worrying about getting it “right” and simply let the colors play!
