Dear friends,
It’s that wonderful time of the year when we begin getting ready with our Holiday cards and I have a truly magical project to share with you!
In this workshop, we will create an enchanting stained-glass window with snow gently falling outside. We’ll then build our festive scene with gorgeous poinsettias, lush foliage, elegant golden accents and a beautifully textured background.
This card may look wonderfully intricate, but we will create it together and you will be surperised at how easy it is! Along the way, we’ll combine color, texture, shine and dimension to transform our favorite supplies into a Holiday card that feels extra special almost like looking through a beautiful church window on a snowy Christmas day.
What We Are Going to Learn
🪟 Creating a Stained-Glass Effect
Learn how to add color behind an intricate window design to create the luminous look of traditional stained glass, with the dark framework helping every beautiful color stand out.
❄️ Creating the Illusion of Falling Snow
We’ll add a delicate snowy effect behind the window, making it appear as though we are looking outside on a magical winter day.
🧱 Building Texture and Dimension
Discover how an embossed background, layered window frame, dimensional florals, and delicate foliage can work together to give the card depth and richness.
🌺 Creating a Festive Floral Arrangement
Learn how to arrange poinsettias, greenery, and golden accents so that they frame the window beautifully without hiding its intricate details.
✨ Combining Different Finishes
We’ll bring together matte cardstock, metallic gold, sparkle and texture to create contrast and give the finished card an elegant Christmas glow.
