The Secret to Bold Color Combinations - Live Workshop recording

On 18th July I hosted the Fruits, Florals & Fearless Color workshop

When I taught this workshop live, I honestly had no plans to upload the recording to YouTube. Like many live Zoom classes, it was simply meant to be an interactive session for those who had registered.

However, after the workshop, quite a few participants reached out to say they wanted to watch it again, not just to recreate the cards, but to revisit the discussion on color hierarchy, color pairing and how to confidently combine bold colors without making a card feel overwhelming. They wanted to revisit it, it in itself, is the biggest honour and since there were requests from my regular attendees, I thought, why not share the unedited recording with everyone?

So, that's exactly what this is.

Please keep in mind that this is a live, unedited Zoom recording. The audio and video quality aren't as polished as my regular tutorials, but I hope the content more than makes up for it. We spend a lot of time discussing why certain colors work together, how to establish a focal point through color and how to use contrast intentionally to create cards that are vibrant yet balanced.

During the workshop, we create three tropical-inspired cards featuring fruits, florals and layered die cuts, using Altenew's Craft Your Life Kit - Fruits and flowers, while exploring design principles that can be applied to almost any cardmaking project.
