Today I want to talk about something many of us quietly struggle with…
Have you ever finished a card, reached for your gems… and felt like nothing works?
Black feels too harsh.Colored gems don’t quite match. Gold feels random. So we put them away.
But what if the problem isn’t the gem?
What if it’s the depth of color on our card?
For this card, I focused on building rich, jewel-toned florals by intentionally using the darkest shades from my Altenew Mini Dye Ink sets. Instead of stopping at soft layering, I leaned into the deepest color in each family to add contrast and dimension. That deeper layer makes all the difference.
