Hello and thank you for stopping By!
Today I’m sharing a collection of cards I created by combining patterned papers with embossing techniques to add depth, texture and interest all while making the most of my supplies. I have a You Tube Tutorial for it thatyou can watch Here. This video is part of a hop by some amazing cardmakers and I would love you to check #cardhoppin (hashtag) to watch all their amazing ideas, with Embossing folders.
Kitchen Backsplash Inspired
Perfect mother's day card idea - Quick and simple. I took a floral hydrangea pattern paper and I paired it with delicate texture in the background of Textured tiles. Finished it with a layered die-cut sentiment and a couple of embellishments for a touch of shine.
Vintage - Gilded Birthday Card
The vintage-inspired birthday card uses richly patterned paper enhanced with embossing to create an elegant, almost antique tile-like effect. Keeping the sentiment bold in black and gold helps ground the design while letting the background shine.
Spellbinders - Yana's Layered Script Sentiments Etched Dies from the Yana's Blooms Collection
In this bee-themed card, I combined playful printed paper with dimensional embossing with geometric shapes and floral embossing on the focal heart panel. This contrast between flat pattern and raised texture adds visual interest while keeping the look fun and light.

Masculine Birthday Card with Feather
For the geometric aqua birthday card, I used structured patterned paper and subtle embossing to echo the clean lines. A soft die-cut feather adds movement against the ordered background.

The everasting love
I used the Altenew Masonry Wall 3D Embossing Folder to create a textured wall background, layering torn vintage rose image pattern paper on top to mimic peeling wallpaper. The exposed embossed “plaster” beneath adds depth, while a hint of shimmer brings soft vintage elegance to the design, like reminding us of the everlasting love - of the bygone era.
Polka Dot Garden Rose card
And finally, the rose and gold card showcases how shine can elevate texture. The embossed floral background paired with gold foiled polka accents creates a luxurious finish while still letting the original print peek through.
These cards are a reminder that embossing folders are not just for plain cardstock , they can beautifully enhance patterned papers too, adding sophistication without needing extra layers.
Thank you so much for being here I hope this inspires you to mix texture with prints and get even more from your crafting supplies!
