In today’s video, I’m taking embossing folders a step further by pairing them with stencils and the results are beautifully dimensional, softly blended, and full of life.

This time, instead of letting the texture shine on its own, we’re enhancing it with colour placement that follows the raised design… and sometimes even goes against it for added interest.

 

Bold Drama with Contrast

For the first card, I went with a bold modern design

Here, I paired deep tones with metallic highlights over the embossed surface.

The stencil work enhances: Depth, Contrast and shadow play on the texture

This card celebrates the bold side of embossing .. 

Soft Stenciled Texture

For the second card, I used layering stencils to gently colour over the embossed design.

The result is a dreamy floral background that feels layered without actually adding bulk.

The embossing acts like a guide — letting the stencil colouring fall into place effortlessly.

These cards prove tha same technique can look delicate or dramatic depending on your colour story.
